Organizing Committee

Ana Cristina Sprotte Costa
Federal University of Paraná
Professor of Physics at the Federal University of Paraná, with research focusing on foundations of quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. Ana attended Paraty Quantum Information as student in the editions of 2011 and 2013, as a researcher in 2019, and as a professor in 2023. She has a daughter born in 2020.

Daniel Jost Brod
Federal Fluminense University
Professor at the Fluminense Federal University in Niterói. His research is theoretical, and main interests include alternative models of quantum computation, linear optics, and quantum foundations. Daniel previously attended the Quantum Paraty event as a PhD student in 2009 and 2011, as a researcher in 2015 and 2017, and as an organizer in 2023.

Fernando Nicacio (Boiúna)
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
Boiúna (aka Fernando Nicacio), a young PhD student at the time of the first Quantum Paraty School and Workshop in 2007, is currently old and, due to that school, Professor at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro working in the Quantum Optics and Information Group mainly in quantum open systems and quantum thermodynamics.

Marcelo França
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
Marcelo is a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His research interests include quantum optics, open quantum systems and quantum information. Marcelo was one of the founders of the first Paraty Quantum Information School and Workshop back in 2007, and has been involved with the conference ever since. Marcelo also organizes the parallel outreach event ''Paraty Quantum na Escola'' (Paraty Quantum in Schools)

Rafael Rabelo
Unicamp
Professor at the Institute of Physics of the State University of Campinas. His research interests include the foundations of quantum theory and quantum information theory. Rafael attended several Paraty Quantum Information School and Workshop editions: as an undergrad on 2007, as a MSc student on 2009, as a PhD student on 2011, as a researcher on 2015, and as professor on 2019 and 2023.
